Philadelphia Flower Show Call for Art

by Ken Greene

Open Call for Art for the Philadelphia International Flower Show

Are you an artist inspired by gardening? Create a proposal for the Philadelphia International Flower Show’s second annual seed pack, Brilliant Cottage Garden. One artist will be selected to have their artwork seen by thousands of people and turned into a limited edition seed pack by the Hudson Valley Seed Library.

Deadline for Submissions: August 20th

Every year the Hudson Valley Seed Library commissions original contemporary art for the covers of their unique heirloom seed packs. Although this year’s general call for art is over, there is one more special opportunity to become a pack artist.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has partnered with the Hudson Valley Seed Library to create custom seed packs to celebrate the 2013 Philadelphia International Flower Show theme, “Brilliant,” focusing on the historic and contemporary landscapes and gardens of Great Britain. These packs and the original work of art will be featured at the Flower Show and will become part of the Seed Library’s Art of the Heirloom traveling exhibition.
