Intern Opening

by Ken Greene

intern emily trellisWe have a new intern position!

We're accepting applications now and looking to hire as soon as possible.

This internship will focus on our Trial Gardens, Farm Stand, and Events

We're looking for someone with some gardening / farming experience who wants to learn more about growing heirloom varieties. Because this internship focuses on our new Trial Gardens, the right person for the job will be self-motivated, detail oriented, organized and good at taking notes. The internship involves seed starting, transplanting, hand weeding, cultivating with tools, making compost, organic methods for pest and disease, watering, harvesting, and washing. The intern will also run our new Farm Stand and help prepare for workshops and events.

Opportunity to grow (and taste!) an incredible diversity of heirloom vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Potential to assist in preparing food from the farm in Hollengold Farm's certified kitchen as well including drying, canning, and pickling. Intern will also gain experience in seed saving and spend some time on the Seed Library farm as well.

The position runs from now through August with the option to continue into the fall. Intern receives free housing/utilities, stipend (depending on if 4 or 5 days per week), fresh veggies, and free workshops.

Come be part of the Seed Squad this season!
