Detailed Product Info

Also known as Cornflower, the Bachelor Button can reach heights of 3 feet and is a great cutting flower.

JFK wore this flower at his wedding as a tribute to his father. When he did so, he entered into dialogue with centuries of symbolic meaning given to this bloom. Once worn by bachelors to test if their courting was successful (if the bloom withered quickly, so they said, the young couples' love was not to last), Cornflower has also been the symbol of various, mostly progressive political movements. Like JFK, the bachelor on this pack is uniting both politics and passion by donning one powerful flower.

About the Art and Artist
Artwork by Keith Carollo. About the Artist: Hi! Very excited to be contributing to this call for entries again. Love what you are doing. My work is generally super simple graphic-based shapes, fonts and iconography but I'm showing you a few things that I haven't really shown before. Been playing around presenting simple shapes in more handmade methods, using collage and unexpected materials. I like it. It's fun. Typically I'm trying to make something super perfect and so it's delightful to just see how things turn out. Nothing's actually perfect in nature, right? It seemed maybe you weren't sure your customer would respond to the more graphic design-based work so thought I'd share this with you. Have lots of other things I'd love to show sometime so gonna keep at this thing:) Thx so much! About the Art: When designer Keith Corollo heard the word "bachelor," he must have been thinking "pad." His digital rendering of 1960s-inspired bacheloresque objects is both contrasted and united by the bright, colorful blooms of this flower.
