Artwork by Scott Bricher: www.scottbricher.com About the Artist: "Scott Bricher has created artwork for exhibitions, portrait commissions, magazines and advertising clients since the mid-eighties. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio drawing, painting and playing music. In 1984 Scott graduated with honors from Parsons School of Design in New York City and continued his painting study at the Art Students League of New York. He embraced digital media in the early nineties and his work incorporates everything from oil paint to pixels.
A love of drawing and color underlies Scott-s work in which dream images join mystical and mundane pairings to create images of discovery. His paintings of internal themes are filtered through a love of the Venetian masters and 19th century realism and have been called -rich and bizarre- by a recent curator.
Scott enjoys the process of creating commissioned portraits. He recently completed paintings of Susan and Jim Graham for The Gunnery in Washington, CT to commemorate Susan-s more than twenty years of service as Head of School.
His 2012 exhibition, Wunderkammer explored his dream cabinet of curiosities and was highlighted in the New York Times."
About the Art: Artist Scott Bricher honors Horace Pippin as an artist and seed steward with a halo of peppers and a solitary healing bee. His artwork brings together traditional portraiture and digital pixels-uniting the past with the present, just as seeds unite generations.
