Pica Chile Pepper Mix Fine Art Print
Artwork by Emily C-D.
Artist Emily C-D loves to communicate, to celebrate, to play with color, rhythm and form. To inspire change and upend the cultural norm. She employs seemingly disparate realms of artistic expression—public and personal, abstract and illustrative—that comprise a continuum of investigation exploring the interplay between supposedly dissimilar but in fact very interrelated environmental and social issues. Originally from Maryland, and based in Mexico for the past decade, she collaborates with diverse communities on both sides of the border on projects that empower people, protect plants and restore dignity to our shared communities.
About the Artist: "I don't just paint botanicals because I love plants—I am directly involved in the seed saving movement as the visual voice of the Somos Semilla (We Are Seed) Community Seed Library in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. My chili painting is part of a series of watercolors that I created for our book Cultiva-Cosecha-Comparte: Semillas Para Todxs (Grow-Harvest-Share: Seeds for Everyone), one of the only lushly illustrated seed-saving manuals in Spanish, a valuable resource in a world where precious seed diversity is being lost, AND so many of the people cultivating our food speak Spanish!"
The paper dimensions of this print are 11x14. We print all of our pieces on archival fine art papers using archival inks to ensure they will last as contemporary heirloom art. We recommend making sure there is space between the glass and print. You can do this by matting the print or you can skip the mat and have a spacer put in the frame.
Prints are shipped via Priority Mail.
