This Japanese variety produces standard, uniform flowers that are perfect for cut flowers. The plants reach a manageable 5 feet high, and the blooms have a perfect ratio of large dark centers to short deep yellow petals. Each plant produces 1 flower. For cut flower product, cut just before the flower is ready to open.

Sow sunflowers outdoors after last frost, until mid-June for autumnal blooms. Can be scattered or sowed in rows. Thin sunflowers to 8-12 inches apart for a dense wall. Tolerate dry conditions and require full sun. Cut blooms to encourage more flowers, or let the seeds mature (to save or to feed the birds).
