Japanese Tea Ceremony  •  Accord, NY
August 3, 2018 - 5.30-7.30pm
One of our guest farmers this year is Kenny Nakagawa who is here to learn more about organic seed production. Kenny and his wife Yuko are from Japan and we are co-hosting some events to share some of their culture and welcome them to the area. Ms. Naoko Iwamoto has practiced the art of the tea ceremony for ten years under Sosho Muneharu Yoshino, one of the renowned tea masters at Mushanokoji Senke School. The ceremony will be served in a modern style at Hollengold Farm and admission is $7. Space is limited to 20 people so please call 845-204-8769 to reserve a spot! Click here to see the flyer.

Vist our gallery exhibit which showcases original artwork commissioned for our art packs and our booth, which will be full of seeds, tools and more. Ken has also curated a garden-inspired art show and will be speaking and leading discussion panels on the importance of seed stewardship. Remember to bring your favorite seeds as we'll be joined by Sergey Jivetin, a seed engraver who will amaze you with his beautiful, intricate seed art. Click here for more details.

Join us at this event designed to build community between plant breeders, organic farmers and eaters. Attendees have the unique experience to taste new and in-development vegetable, fruit & grain cultivars with the breeders that created them, share opinions, talk about needs & preferences and learn about the importance of organic plant breeding.
