Calendula is equally valuable as a feast for the eyes and an herbal remedy. When harvested fresh and then dried, these blithe blooms (which don all manner of warm colors thanks to plant breeders) can be used in teas and salves to soothe the skin. All varieties can be grown both ornamentally and medicinally, though the typical bright orange varieties are the strains most commonly used as medicine.
