Boothby's Blonde Cucumber

LOVE these! Of the 8 varieties I planted 1plant each), it was the first to produce in my 7A garden and it offers up little cucumber gifties often. Unlike the Armenian I was so excited about which produced male flowers ad nauseam, forEVER before sending up a single female (then pooping out!), there was a good balance of male/female flowers, so if I ever worried about pollination I could address. At first I was bummed at the number and size of seeds, but that was swiftly swept away by Boothby’s incredible crunch and mild flavor. +They are beautiful sliced. +My preschooler loves them. These little guys will be forever in my garden; I second the vote for a Maine flavor art pack. Thanks, Hudson Valley!

Growing up my family would eat a lot of these. This year I decided to try planting them, they did OK. I’ll be trying my luck at them again next year.

I'm growing this blonde cucumber in my GreenStalk. It is doing well. Just harvested one today. I really wanted to give this a 3/5 as a cucumber but instead I am giving it 4/5 stars overall because this doesn't taste like a cucumber to me. It tastes more like a lightly sweet yellow squash. I wanted a cucumber for my salad and this wasn't like a typical cucumber. If this was advertised as a blonde squash, I would give it 5/5. Easy to grow and taste good and I can see it doing well in a stir fry.

Awesome Little Cucumber Wonderful high yielding cucumber! These are definitely short and stout cucumbers! I let one go longer on the vine so I could collect seeds it got so fat and became a gorgeous yellow color. I would love to see a Maine art themed packet! I felt so happy to find a seed originating from Maine as that is where my family is from! It felt like having a little piece of home in the garden and in the fridge with fridge pickles! These seeds are getting harder to find too, I am purchasing extras for my families' stocking stuffers for next years garden!
