Ikebana Workshop with Hiromi Suzuki - Sat 9/27 - 1:30PM
In this workshop, join Hiromi Suzuki to learn the basic principles of Shinsei-style Ikebana, characterized by the beauty of clean lines, a strict composition that eliminates all excess, and a clear yet graceful aesthetic. Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, has a long and rich history that dates back over 600 years. It originated from Buddhist rituals in the 6th century, where flowers were offered at altars as a form of respect and devotion.
You'll use fresh dahlias to practice the Shinsei-style, creating a beautiful arrangement to take home.
Please bring your own vase and flower frog. Vases and frogs will be available for purchase in the retail store if needed.
Hiromi Suzuki began studying Ikebana in the Shinsei Style in Japan in 2006. Since then, she has continued to study this style to deepen her knowledge, refine her skills, and develop her sense of aesthetic awareness. Hiromi Suzuki became an instructor in January 2015.
