One wishes all the garden vegetables could perform like this cucumber. You know you have something special just by how robustly they germinate! Second year we have grown them, last year we had unbelievable yields from this cucumber that we shared several with our neighbors. It was dubbed the "Ivy League" cucumber( because it was developed at Cornell). Also, we did not know that cucumbers could taste better than another cucumber but these taught us otherwise. Sadly this was a bad year for cucumbers, a groundhog got some leaves off the early ones then the wilt came which both can be devasting to a home gardener. I have to say despite all this, the silver slicers were the only variety that managed to give us few cucumbers. We tried double yield and the Armenian cucumbers none of which survived.

I will always grow this cucumber! I watched Jess Sowards say she loved this one and I ordered it several years ago, I got it just before July 4th and planted the seeds. I harvested many hundreds of cucumbers before powdery mildew took it out because I had no good airflow through my arch. This year I am growing it on a different arch with the correct wind flow through the tunnel. I will always choose this variety to grow because it is NEVER bitter no matter how much water you give it, even when the seeds are large and woody, scoop them out and enjoy! I share these seeds with my friends because they are amazing and unbeatable! I just ordered a 75 seed pack to be sure I never run out of them! You will not regret this choice! I promise, I have grown it since 2018 and plan to grow it as long as I live!!!!

Wonderful cucumber - crispy and so delicious, it never gets bitter like other cucumbers at the end of season. This will be my number one cucumber to grow from now on! My mom was visiting from Europe and she could not stop eating it! LOL

This will forever have a large space in my garden. I love these cucumbers, and so does my family. The silver slicers out performed every other cucumber in my garden, stayed healthy for longer, and is delicious. They are great for snacking, made delicious pickles, and are something unique to bring to friends and family. Cucumbers are my favorite vegetable to grow, and these are my #1.

These are my second round of cakes. Never grew or tasted Siver Slicers but tried on the recommendation of Jessica Sowards.... so delicious. Will grow 2
rounds next year.

I was so pleasantly surprised with these! I honestly forgot I planted this variety this year and was wondering why they looked big enough to pick but didn't seem to have that signature dark green skin. I facepalmed when I looked at the seed packet and quickly picked one and cut it up to check the taste. I love it! It has such a refreshing, crisp, and almost sweet after taste, and I preferred that the skin was also crisp and not too rubbery or difficult to chew through like some grocery store varieties. I am a big fan!

I heard about these cucumbers on a you tube channel, and thought I would like to try them. I received the seeds quickly and although it was later in the season I planted a few seeds. Well, they all grew like crazy, and I am having a really good harvest from those plants. The cucumbers are delicious, sweet and with small seeds-I love them and can't wait to plant more next year!

Started seeds in late April in So. Cal. Only grew a few fruits. Trying again for a fall crop. Fingers crossed as they are delicious.

The silver slicer is the best cucumber I’ve ever had. I’m not a fan of the thick skin on other cucs. This works for canning and fresh.

An extremely prolific cucumber. Just off one plant alone I have gotten 12 cucumbers so far. I have basically been able to take off 1-2 everyday for the past week. A keeper for sure

Silver Slicer is my new favorite cucumber of all time. Always crisp and clean tasting, even in the heat of summer.

These are the Only cukes, that I have grown, that I have been able to just stand in the garden and eat one Right off of the vine. These will always be in my garden now! You dont even have to take the skins off when eating them!!! Love'em!

Started this way too late in the season and now am happy enough to see blooms here on my tiny, almost sunless balcony in Jersey City. It sits next to a box of chilies to encourage it to keep on going. Am very impressed with how vigorous and low maintenance it is and will definitely start it earlier next year and reap a harvest of cukes!

Other cucumbers pale in comparison!
Don't let the pale color fool you! This Cuke is full of flavor!
