Lovage is the best-kept secret of the herb world. Its flavor is reminiscent of like celery, only sweeter. It is used fresh or dried in soups, stocks, salads, and tomato sauce, to name a few. Of course, like all herbs, lovage has its share of medicinal applications: it is said to stimulate digestion and have mild antiseptic properties. It's also a beautiful perennial plant in a lovely pale green shade with a graceful arching habit.
