Bonide Pyrethrin (8 oz concentrate)

Pyrethrin, a naturally occurring chemical found in plants in the chrysanthemum family, makes an effective pesticide for beetles, aphids, leafhoppers, and other insect pests that can afflict the garden. It is a neurotoxin for these insects, but, when used at prescribed dilutions, it does not impact mammals, since mammals (including humans!) have systems that are too poor at absorbing the chemical and too efficient at sweeping any that is absorbed from the body.

Pyrethrin is approved for use in organic growing (though, as with all additives and amendments, it needs to be cleared with a certifier prior to use.)

Note that Pyrethrin is broad-spectrum and can impact nearly any insect, so use carefully and only at the onset of active infestations of specific pests: Japanese Beetles, Tarnished Plant Bugs, Cucumber Beetles, etc.
