Commercial Grower FAQs
Where do these seeds come from?
We produce about 40% of the seeds we sell on our own certified organic farm in the Hudson Valley of New York State. About 20% of our seeds are produced by other small contract growers. The remaining 40% come from responsible wholesale seed houses.
Do you offer seeds in larger quantities suited to commercial production?
Yes! We sell three larger pack sizes: Homestead Packs, Farm Packs, and Bulk Packs. Homestead Packs normally contain three times the quantity of a regular garden seed pack, Farm Packs normally contain nine times the quantity of a regular seed pack. Bulk packs are much larger quanties and range between 4 ounces to a full pound of seed
How quickly do you ship?
From February 1st through June 30th, we ship most orders within one business day. Regular UPS ground or USPS First Class or USPS Priority Mail will reach nearly every address in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states within two business days of leaving our warehouse.
Do you offer hybrids?
No, we offer only open-pollinated varieties. However, some of our OP varieties (such as Bridge to Paris Pepper, for example) are exquisite varieties that often outperform hybrids and have proven themselves in unbiased trials.
Do you offer any quality guarantees?
Like most seed companies, we will refund the cost of your seeds if you are unsatisfied with the product. We germination test all of our seed lots at least once and often twice per year, and since we steward many of the varieties ourselves we are extremely familiar with our varieties from germination to seed harvest. We know them well and will do our best to support you in growing solid crops!
