Dia de los Muertos – Day of the Dead – is an ancient Aztec tradition of honoring the dead. Marigolds have always been an important part of the celebration and, at this time of year, adorn gravestones throughout parts of South America.

We grew many Marigold varieties this year and fell in love with this flower for so many reasons:  its bright blossoms, longevity as a cut flower, strong fragrance, natural pest repellent qualities, and long bloom season, to name a few. We’ve also added a mix of Marigolds to our new Art Pack collection, so look for it when our new catalog comes online next month!
