Introduction to Cyanotype with Chris Losee - 6/13 - 10:30 AM
Saturday June 13
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
with the option to continue working until 1:30 PM
If you’ve ever been intrigued by the creative possibilities of blue prints, this hands-on workshop is for you! We will begin with a brief history of the cyanotype—a photographic process that dates from the 1840’s but is still appreciated by many artists today. We’ll discuss the chemistry, equipment and materials needed, and how the process works. Then we’ll dive into making our own prints! All materials will be supplied, and everyone will go home with some beautiful cyanotypes.
Chris Losee is a native of the Hudson Valley who has long been intrigued by hand-made
photographic processes including cyanotype, gum bichromate and salted paper prints. His work has been shown frequently, both locally and across the USA.
This workshop is 2 hours long with the option to stay an hour longer to continue to work on your project. Dress for mess.
