Rembrandt Snapdragon
Antirrhinum majus
A vibrant mix that's both hardy and gallery-worthy.
During the Dutch Golden Age, the art of plant breeding and painting flourished like a field of flowers in bloom. Artists, agriculturalists, and horticulturalists alike found ways to celebrate the beauty and diversity of flowers. Painters, like Rembrandt van Rijn, captured this obsession with plants by representing everyday farmers, riotous flower bouquets, sweeping Dutch landscapes, farmer's market scenes, and the flurry of ships coming in and out of ports carrying goods, including flower seeds.
A long-lasting and hardy flower for bouquets. These snaps are vibrantly and masterfully colored with bright rosy-orange upper petals and yellow-streaked with orange on their lower petals. Plants produce gallery-worthy blossoms deep into the fall, and are also great for cutting for bouquets.
