National Pickling Cucumber
Certified Organic
Cucumis sativus
A great little cuke loved across the country.
The Association of National Pickle Packers wanted a perfect pickling cucumber. They turned to the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station for help and as a result, in 1929, The National Pickling Cucumber was born. These cukes are jar sized: 5 to 6 inches tall, with tapered ends to make them fit more evenly. Their lightly striped skin is thin and tender, allowing them to easily absorb spices. This prolific producer is also delicious served fresh!

Direct sow after frost, or start under protection up to three weeks before. Provide fertile soil. Harvest regularly; once cukes become too mature to eat, the plants tend to cease producing new cukes. Sow in succession at three-week intervals for healthy plants and abundant cukes all season long.
