Lavender Cloud Nicotiana
Nicotiana alata
Certified Organic
Grown on Our Farm
Very fragrant night-blooming annual in shades of lavender and white.
On sultry summer nights, when the air stays saturated and the thunderstorms roll in the distance, this aptly named nicotiana releases a cloud of intoxicating, jasmine-meets- honey aroma that scents the air to great distances. We received this variety from the proprietors of Daggawalla Seed in Portland, Oregon. Their catalog, since closed, listed over 15 varieties of nicotiana; we trialed many and found this one to be a stunner. A bonus: blooms vary in intriguing ways from plant to plant.

Wow! Glad I planted just 3 seedlings bc these beauties come into their own. Lovely, sturdy and tall. I planted them by my front porch and they peep over the railings. They required little help from me.
Lavender Cloud. Every year! This beautiful Fritillary butterfly is on a creamy white Polar Bear Zinnia.
They’ve bloomed. Package says Lavender Cloud, but they’re pure white and have no scent. Interesting looking insect-catching specimen though.
Hello L! Is this the only Nicotiana plant you have? If you have others, you are more likely to see the variation that we describe on our product page. You will also see examples of this in the photos we provide for Lavender Cloud Nicotiana. This particular seed varies in color from plant to plant. You could get anywhere from lavender with beautiful dark violet edges, to white. Also in regards to smell - Nicotiana releases their heady aroma in the early morning and at night. On a humid summer night, they can really overwhelm the garden with their scent! I hope this information is helpful.

Nicotiana is a favorite and they grow well using winter sowing. I love the bigger flowers on this species. Can’t wait to see them this summer.
Heavenly scent!
Heavenly
A family favorite.
Great performer!
I bought these on a whim because I wanted a night bloomer near the porch. They have not disappointed! The seed sprouted well and grew quickly. They transplanted into the garden well and have been going gangbusters ever since. Beautiful fragrance and a prolific bloomer. I'm gonna make a bigger space for these next year!
Stunning Color!
I grow Nico as a cut flower and 'Lavender Cloud' is my new favorite. Quick to mature, great seed germination, tall, smells amazing, and the color is perfect. Thank you for stocking this seed!
It just keeps on blooming
I sell these seeds in my retail store, so of course I had to take some home to try. I've never grown nicotiana before and was delighted with the results. It started with a nice plant showing a couple of long stems with a few blooms at the end. Then that stem started sending off more side shoots and then more shoots come out of the base and the next thing you know there are a lot of beautiful flowers. The color reminds me of moonlight (a very pale lavender.). It has a good vase life as a cut flower and adds movement to an arrangement. I will be growing it again next year.
