Shady Meadow Mix Seed Shaker
Conventionally Grown
Every garden has a shady spot. And while you're probably glad you can retreat to it when the sun is beating down on your gardening tasks, you also likely wish you could grow plants there. With this Seed Shaker, you can, and it's never been easier. Just shake and sow! These varieties thrive where others struggle for want of sunlight, and many of them attract pollinating insect species as well. Each box plants 100 square feet.

Growing instructions
Sow your wildflower patch in early to mid-spring. Alternatively, sow in late fall, and the perennial seeds will establish enough to overwinter and come up the following spring.
Prepare the soil as you would for any bed. Clean out the weeds. Aerate with a garden fork if compact, then rake flat. Lift open the spout of your Seed Shaker and spread the seeds out evenly over an area no bigger than 100 square feet. Then press seeds into the soil by walking over the planted area (with flat-soled shoes!) or using a board to pat them down. If the soil is dry, water the seeds in. In fall, soils are usually moist enough without.
Continue watering in spring for a few weeks; again, fall sowings usually don't need it. Weed fastidiously until plants reach 12-18" in height. Be patient; the perennial blooms will get better every year!

Planted shady wildflower mix this spring and here are the results so far. Today is July 3rd. We live north of Albany, NY.
Just when I thought these seeds were a failure, it turned out they just needed a nice cold winter and then... boom! Next spring came and with it a riot of color!
Love this! Pic taken in fall, but different flowers bloomed in spring and summer. Butterflies and bees seen often.
great company. always have a lot of success with these seeds
Great seeds make great plats and flowers.
Be forewarned; I planted this in October 2023 and got tons of creeping bellflower for my trouble this spring and the one before it. Never had it on our property in all the time we've lived here....but the spring after we direct sowed these, it took over a huge patch and this spring isn't much better. AVOID.
Hello Joshua. We do not see that you placed an order for the Shady Meadow Mix. Could you please let us know the order number so we can get to the bottom of this. We have reached out to our supplier to investigate how this could have happened.
Tell you more in the spring. Thanks, Mark
Planted as per instructions on the box. This is the growth after about 3.5 weeks. Watered every other day for the first week and watered twice be week for about 10 mins each time. Will thin when plants are more established and transplant to other parts of the garden. GREAT PRODUCT!
