The good: the poppies are absolutely stunning and there were Chinese houses that just took my breath away.
The really, truly awful: tussock bellflower was mentioned as a flower in this blend: we got creeping bellflower, which is an invasive. I'm very upset to be currently digging up most of our shade garden now where it's taken over. We have lived in our home for nearly 12 years, and never, ever had creeping bellflower - or any other bellflower - before putting these seeds in.
Heartbroken and feel very misled.
Hi Kristin, thank you so much for alerting us! We are no longer selling the lot you would have received from us in 2023 but have reached out to our supplier get to the bottom of this, as the mix should contain tussock bell flower and NOT the creeping bellflower you have pictured here.
Crappy soil, benign neglect, ill-timed planting... this mix can take it all, and still pay you back in blooms!
Now a foot tall with tiny buds showing! I don't have to wait for spring, it's starting indoors in my living room with snow outside. Growing from seeds is so much fun.
Great fun trying to guess what is coming up first. The seeds started popping up right away. Some tall, strong stemmed, some delicate. I'll transplant to big pots soon.
This plant grew in Year 2 to 3 feet, multiple flowers and easily replanted
Quite remarkable
