Frisee Endive
Certified Organic
Chichorium endiva
Adds excellent texture and a zingy flavor to any salad bowl.
This chicory, in the daisy family, is often found in gourmet mesclun mixes, but has many other uses as well. One recipe that we're eager to try this fall, when both Brussels sprouts and this endive are enjoying the cool weather, is Frisee Endive Salad with Warm Brussels Sprouts and Toasted Pecans. If it turns out as delicious as it sounds, we'll post the recipe on our blog, along with other tasty ideas.

To grow heads of frisee endive, direct sow outdoors 4 weeks before last frost. Thin to 12" apart. Sow in succession for a steady supply through the spring, and begin sowing again at the end of summer for a fall harvest. Provide ample water, especially during a warm spring. For baby leaves, endive can be sown closer together and cut while small.
