Purple Savoy Cabbage
Brassica oleracea
Stunning green-to-purple fall cabbage.
Sweet, crimped leaves make Savoy a more tender alternative to tougher cabbages. Perfect for wrapping and stuffing! Outer leaves are deeply blushed with purple, while the savoyed interior is crisp light green. Produces small, 1-3 pound heads, a bit later than other varieties. A very fun variety for home garden, not recommended for market growers.

A long season cabbage. For earlier heads ready in late summer, sow indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Transplant healthy seedlings when there are 2 sets of true leaves, 24 inches apart. For fall harvest, start seeds 100 days before first fall frost. Cabbage requires well drained, fertile soil and plenty of water. Harvest once heads are full, heavy and solid. The size of the heads will vary.
