Scarlet Cinquefoil
Potentilla thurberi
An elegant beauty with velvety, red petals.
Native to moist meadows of the southwestern U.S., this elegant perennial wildflower produces beautiful mounding basal foliage and velvety, deep-red blooms on branching, wiry stems. The five-petaled flowers are very attractive to pollinators and bring long-lasting color to the mid-summer landscape. Blooms the second year and can be propagated via crown division. An excellent choice for rock gardens and sunny perennial borders.
