Vivid Choi
Certified Organic
Brassica rapa
Sweet greens with succulent stems in purple and pink.
A beautiful, bold choi for the home or market gardener! Substantial dark green leaves abound from bright stems in shades of purple and pink. Plants show the most vigor in the cooler months. Wonderfully mild and sweet. Mature plants have the pinkest stems, but greener baby leaves are just as delicious and Vivid Choi's strong, upright habit makes bunching a breeze. Another great open-pollinated variety from Frank Morton.

Sow indoors beginning 8-10 weeks before last frost, or direct sow beginning 3-4 weeks before last frost. Can be sown straight through until September, though spring sowings can bolt early and be taken by flea beatles; consider using row cover. Sow more densely than indicated for baby clippings. Harvest whole head--not really a cut-and-come-again green. Superb in fall and winter.
