Trailing Nasturtium
Tropaeolum majus
Conventionally Grown
Solid green leaves, bushy vines, brightly colored blooms.
Trailing Nasturtium works great as a summer ground cover in flower beds, in front of shrubs, or along stone steps, where its trailing habit creates a beautiful effect. It's equally at home in the vegetable garden, yielding peppery leaves and edible blooms for summer salads.

Growing instructions
Direct sow nasturtiums after danger of frost has passed, spacing them closer together for a ground cover, or further apart if planting them among other annuals. Plants are low lying, but spread wide, covering about 2 feet. Harvest flowers weekly to encourage more blooms.
Nasturtiums make a great companion plant in the vegetable garden. They help out cucumbers in particular, by deterring the pesky cucumber beetle.
