Trailing Nasturtium works great as a summer ground cover in flower beds, in front of shrubs, or along stone steps, where its trailing habit creates a beautiful effect. It's equally at home in the vegetable garden, yielding peppery leaves and edible blooms for summer salads.

Growing instructions
Direct sow nasturtiums after danger of frost has passed, spacing them closer together for a ground cover, or further apart if planting them among other annuals. Plants are low lying, but spread wide, covering about 2 feet. Harvest flowers weekly to encourage more blooms. Nasturtiums make a great companion plant in the vegetable garden. They help out cucumbers in particular, by deterring the pesky cucumber beetle.

    These seemed to germinate really well, and much better than expected based on what other reviews and lower seed count. Sadly that section of my garden got flooded early on so many of them perished so I didn't get to see any blooms. Would definitely try these again in the spring.

    Please disregard my previous review. This year they ALL germinated and trailed over the edges of my garden bed. They seemed to do better in a more sheltered spot with my other vegetables rather than directly in the ground, but that could just be because of the wild weather here. Will purchase again and again!

    So far, 0% germination. Its been four weeks since I planted. I soaked half and nicked half.

    Low germination rate so far
    Out of seven seeds, only two germinated. Statistically, these aren't high numbers, but there are only 25 seeds in my packet, so.... Fortunately, one seedling has a green stem, and the other has an orange one, so it looks like I got one of each possible color, and they've been growing quite nicely. I'll sow the remaining seeds to see if they'll show signs of life, because I was hoping to have plenty of nasturtiums growing amongst my vegetable plants this year.
