Jimmy Nardello's Sweet Pepper
Capsicum annuum
Certified Organic
Grown on Our Farm
The pods of this beloved heirloom are highly rippled.
Jimmy Nardello was a Connecticut gardener whose sweet peppers were--and still are--much adored for their ripply skin, sugary sweetness (when ripe), and sheer abundance: they are undoubtedly one of the highest yielding sweet peppers anywhere. The peppers are small to medium in size--about one inch in diameter and six to eight inches in length. One of the easiest peppers to grow in the northeast. (And one of the very few vegetables that our old dog, Kale, wouldn't eat!).
Jimmy Nardello is part of Slow Foods US Ark of Taste, a catalog of over 200 delicious foods in danger of extinction. By promoting, sowing, and growing Ark products we help ensure they remain in production and on our plates.

The plants grew but they never produced at all.....
A great pan-fry pepper. We eat these all summer long.
I planted 3 seeds in each of 8 small pots. 5 pots had no plants come up at all. 1 seed came up in 1 pot and 3 seeds came up in 2 pots. of the 7 plants that came up only 4 ever got big enough to transplant. So, I transplanted 4 seeds into 2 large pots 2 of them never grew any more. they lived and stayed green and even put on a few tiny leaves but never did anything else. both of the 2 remaining plants continued to grow. one is about 12" tall and the other is abo ut 16" tall. they both have had several bloom but as soon as the flower gets fully open within a day or two the blooms fall off. have not had even one single bloom do anything except fall off. maybe its just me but I haven't had any problems with other plants.
Hello John,
Thank you so much for the feedback. Please always feel free to reach out to us if you have issues germinating our seeds. We guarantee our seeds for the entire packed for year that they are labeled for. I do not see an order in our system for you. Are you able to reach out with an alternate name or email address that you may have placed that order under?
Thank you
Awesome pepper. Plant stays compact but is loaded with peppers. I ended up growing 4 plants and I’m slicing and freezing peppers because I had 15-20 peppers on each plant. I had to pick and ripen some on the counter as to not overload the plant but all peppers are good sized and good quality. I will grow these again. Great flavor too.
My nephew shared his experience with this pepper and I was intrigued. After he shared his growing tips and we ate them with dinner, I decided that my garden and dinner table would not be complete without this pepper. They are sweet and lovely in just about anything, and are great even raw. Love them.
