Bishop's Lace Flower

Ammi majus

Conventionally Grown

The classic, airy white flower for romantic bouquets and garden borders.

This beloved, old-fashioned annual brings a delicate, airy quality to any garden. Its intricate, snow-white blossoms are like giant, lacy disks, each four to six inches across. They float gracefully on tall, three-foot stems above finely cut, feathery foliage, adding a wild, romantic feel to borders and beds. While it shares a strong resemblance to its wild cousin, Queen Anne's Lace, this superior strain has been selected for its more perfectly formed flower heads and long, graceful stems, making it an exquisite filler flower for summer bouquets.

It's also wonderfully easy to grow. As a branching annual, it's easily established from seed and will bloom in its first year. It isn't fussy about soil, though it does ask for a spot in full sun. Once its roots are established, it's quite resilient and requires minimal moisture. It's a staple for a reason, beloved by home gardeners and the cut-flower industry alike for its reliable, frothy white blooms that bridge the gap between cultivated and wild.
