Love in a Mist Seedlings
Certified Organic
Nigella damascena
Ethereal blooms and intriguing seed pods.
The feathery foliage of Love in a Mist, or nigella, creates its own climate; a clump creates a wispy, atmospheric effect. Out of the emerald vapors float jewels of quartz, sapphire, and amethyst, which give way to levitating seed pods shaped like vertical dirigibles. This plant is related to the Indian culinary and medicinal spice known as kalonji, but it has a more showy flower and seed pod. The dried seed heads can be saved and used for arrangements and crafts. Still, you may find mood-lifting healing by collecting the flowers and pods of these Persian jewels out of the misty calm.

Artwork by Polly M. Law. Polly makes paper dolls with deep personal issues. This one, outfitted in feathery garb surrounded by mist, seems lost in contemplation of the exquisite complexity of Nigella's leaf, flower, and pod.
