Biquinho Pepper Mix Seeds

Capsicum chinense

Conventionally Grown

These "little beaks" burst with tangy, peppery flavor. Pouting is impossible!

Biquinho means "little beak" in Portuguese, but it also means "pout"—which is not something you will do when enjoying these delectable little treats. Typically prepared by pickling in a sweet and salty brine and often enjoyed as appetizers at a bar, these peppers possess a highly fruity flavor that shines against (or through) accompanying dishes. Excellent as pizza toppers, with fresh bread, and as part of a Brazilian-inspired mezzo plate. Maturity is late in the season and comes in a big wave; pickling not only accentuates their flavor but helps to quickly process the bounty when it comes.

About the artist
In this work, São Paulo-based Thiago Limón aims to evoke the state of Minas Gerais, the birthplace of Biquinho Peppers. Branches of the plant surround local landscapes, and its vividly-dancing colors and forms convey a sense of "Brazilian-ness."

SE Wisconsin weather not the best for Biquinho Pepper production

I was able to grow the pepper plants but our unusual weather over the summer was less then optimal for them to produce peppers. They did not like the many cold, rainy, and cloudy days we had. I hope to try again next summer.

The seeds weren’t what I ordered

The seeds weren’t what I ordered. Ordered Biquinho, labeled as Biquinho, but got a cayenne pepper. I did get an abundance of peppers, but not what I ordered.

These grew incredibly well for me. GIANT plant. Made a ton of pickles. That said, if you don't like harvesting tiny stuff, I'd maybe avoid them, though.

I was disappointed as none of the seeds came up as seedlings. The tomato seed varieties I ordered all grew well this year.

Hi Katherine, We are sorry to hear that you had trouble germinating the Pepper seeds. We will reach out to you directly to resolve the issue
