Actually, all deer love lettuce, but this lettuce happens to look like a deer tongue with its thick, long pointed leaves. Deer Tongue dates back to the early 1740s with over 100 years in the Northeast. This cut and come again oak leaf lettuce has been cultivated to have a robust compact habit, good production, and both heat and cold tolerances.
