Minnesota Mini Melon
Certified Organic
Cucumis melo
An extra-early producer, the vines grow many small melons
This attractive, small-fruited muskmelon has very flavorful flesh and an ultra-thin rind. An extra-early producer, the vines grow many small melons, ideal for lunchboxes and general snacking. This compact heirloom was bred at the University of Minnesota in the 1940s. Fruits grow to 9".
This variety is more commonly known as "Minnesota Midget Melon." Hudson Valley Seed Co. has replaced a portion of this name with a respectful alternative.

Sow indoors under protection 2-3 weeks before last frost, or direct sow after last frost and when soil has warmed significantly. Provide fertile soil and plenty of space. As fruits mature, elevate using flat, porous stones or ceramic shards to avoid rotting fruit. Melons are ripe when they slip from the vine with a gentle tug; color will deepen and fruit will become aromatic.
