Double Yield Cucumber

Certified Organic

Cucumis sativus

This high-yielding cuke does double duty.

Double Yield is so named for its versatile cukes that are well adapted to both slicing and pickling. Young cukes are crunchy, tender, and well-flavored; for best quality harvest when cukes are 6" or less in length.

As is often the case, we take more pictures of seeds and seed saving than we do of ripe edible veggies. The second photo shows us splitting the extremely over-ripe cucumbers and fermenting the seeds.

Direct sow after frost, or start under protection up to three weeks before (but no earlier--Double Yield Cucumbers grow very quickly). Provide fertile soil. Harvest regularly; once cukes become too mature to eat, the plants tend to cease producing new cukes. Sow in succession at three-week intervals for healthy plants and abundant cukes all season long.
