Erythronium californicum 'Pagoda'
A larger relative of the native Trout Lily with elegantly arching stems and mottled foliage.
Blooms mid spring
Related to our native Trout Lily, but larger, with 2" wide yellow nodding flowers atop elegantly arching, dark, contrasting stems, and substantial mottled foliage. Spectacular in natural settings; thrives in dappled woodland gardens, and will readily naturalize in any setting with rich, moist soil and dappled light.
Beloved by bees, and resistant to deer and rodent damage. Plant as soon as possible upon receipt.

Erythronium likes moist, nutrient-rich, well-draining, neutral soil, and will naturalize slowly by bulb offsets and sometimes seed if it is happy where planted and not disturbed. Bulbs should be planted ASAP after reception, as they do not like to be out of the soil. They do best in partial shade, should be planted 4" deep, and watered in well after planting.
