Ikebana Workshop with Hiromi Suzuki - 9/11 - 5PM

Friday September 11

5 PM - 6:30 PM

Learn the basics of Shinsei-style Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, with Hiromi Suzuki. Ikebana has a long and rich history dating back over 600 years. It originated from Buddhist rituals in the 6th century, where flowers were offered at altars as a form of respect and devotion. Shinsei-style Ikebana is characterized by the beauty of clean lines, strict composition that eliminates all excess, and a clear yet graceful aesthetic.

Please bring your own vase and flower frog. There will be vases and frogs available for an additional cost at the retail store.

All flowers and greenery will be provided with the class. This class is suitable for ages 14 and up.

Hiromi Suzuki began studying Ikebana in the Shinsei Style in Japan in 2006. Since then, she has continued to study this style, deepening her knowledge, refining her skills, and developing her sense of aesthetic awareness. Hiromi Suzuki became an instructor in January 2015 and continues to share the traditional Japanese art of Ikebana.
