Bee Nectary Mix

Various Species

Conventionally Grown

Where would we be(e) without bees?

While many people automatically think of the domesticated hive-minded honey bees as pollinators, there are many native solitary bees that help our gardens, farms, and natural ecosystems thrive. This mix of annuals and perennials supports a diverse community of bees including black sweat bees, Eastern bumblebees, long horned bees, pure gold-green sweat bees, and mining bees. Bee a friend to all the bees by planting this beeautiful flower mix.

Contains a rotating mix of annual and perennial species, such as Echinacea, Lance-leaved Coreopsis, Lacy Phacelia, Globe Gilia, Siberian Wallflower, China Aster, Sweet Alyssum, California Poppy, Plains Coreopsis, Bergamot, New England Aster, Purple Giant Hyssop, Chinese Forget-me-not, Smooth Penstemon, Fleabane Daisy, and Corn Poppy.

I haven't bought this mix, tho I wanted to. Except that I see you've included Chinese forget-me-not. Yes it's pretty, and attractive to bees. But it is also spreads aggressively, crowding out other desireable plants in my garden and has become a significant problem. Customers really should be forewarned-- at least in Seattle, this is a really problematic plant.

I received the Bee Nectary Mix as a gift, and was very happy with the many prolific, long lasting flowers it contained. Because of a lack of space in my garden, I distributed the seeds among three large terracotta pots. As a result, the seedlings were crowded, and required aggressive thinning. But once established, the various flowers in the mix bloomed from early summer until now, mid-October. My favorites in the mix included vivid asters that bloomed steadily for weeks, and several Chinese forget-me-nots, which I hadn't known of previously, and which have turned out to be very good for cutting.
