Costata Romanesca Zucchini
Curcurbita pepo
Large plants yields loads of tasty fruits & blossoms.
Costata Romanesca Zucchini is originally from Italy (in case the name didn't give it away!) Edible both cooked and raw, the Romanesca boasts a nutty flavor and yields plentiful flowers. For a positively daisy-like appearance, harvest this squash with the blossom still attached!
"An overgrown Costata Romanesca...dog-size!" Thank you to Lauren, who runs Crossroads Hydroponics in Newburgh, NY, for providing us with this great comparison photo! She got creative and used an adorable canine companion to showcase the scale of her squash.
