Fall Collection

The summer solstice starts the clock for the fall planning and planting schedule in these parts. Fortunately, fall doesn't spell the close of the season - far from it. In late summer, you can continue to plant greens and roots for fall harvests. Once fall approaches, switch to more winter hardy greens (for winter/early spring harvests) and start planting your garlic and shallots. Once October/November arrive, it's time to plant flower bulbs, as well as flower seeds that prefer to lay dormant over winter before starting their lifecycle (think poppies, milkweed, echinacea etc.).
